How to protect your skin from sunlight through nutrition?

At some point we all enjoy hot sun, although knowing that burning sun is not good for our skin. It could be beach volleyball, sunbathing or just walking around the town, inevitably sun is brutal and the other hand our skin is very sensitive.

You will find a large number of different products in shops and pharmacies that help protect your skin from strong sunlight and heat. However, healthy skin starts from the inside there is a lot we can do through nutrition to protect it.

Eat different vitamines

Vitamin C is the best immune system booster, but it can also help your skin to filter out UV rays and repair your skin cells. You can find it in several of our product, for example Be Healthy, Be Active and Be Beautiful.

Vitamin E helps repair UV damage. If the body doesn’t have it enough, it can lead to increased skin pigmentation problems, skin dryness and other skin issues. You can find vitamine E in our Acai powder.

Vitamin A helps with photoprotection, which means it guards against skin damage related to sun exposure, so it can even guard against sunburn. Vitamin A is in our Detox superfood mix.

Consume plenty of collagen

There is large loss of collagen in the dermis of chronically sun-damaged skin. In one study they found that the total collagen content of sun-damaged skin was 20% . This change in collagen content is due to increased degradation. But collagen is absorbed correctly only with vitamin C, so that’s why our collagen edition mixes are good – they contain both in large quantities.

Fill your body selenium stock

The mineral selenium preserves tissue elasticity and slows down the hardening of tissues associated with oxidation. Animal studies have found that when selenium is taken orally or through the skin, it provided protection against both everyday and excessive UV damage. Dietary sources of the mineral include whole grain cereals, seafood, garlic, and eggs.

Where do get it all?

Everything is based on a varied diet – the plate should include whole grains, protein sources such as meat or eggs, and of course vegetables. The more colorful and diverse the plate, the more necessary substances we get from it.

Inevitably we have limited time in one day and most people do not manage to monitor their diet on a daily basis. We can promise ourselves that we are trying to monitor our diet, but in reality, a large proportion of people are not actually able to do so. Even more, most of us have not studied nutrition so specifically – that’s why superfood mixes are an ideal option, where many different useful substances are put together in one package. We should certainly not make concessions on our health. And although the sun is an external factor, we can do a lot to protect ourselves by eating right.
