The coconut tree (Cocos nucifera) belongs to the palm tree family and coconut is the seed or the fruit of that tree. The seed consists of a layer of creamy, white meat surrounding a center filled with refreshing, mildly flavored coconut water. Coconuts are very nutritious and rich in fiber, vitamins, and minerals. There are many varieties to use coconut – coconut oil, coconut flour, coconut water, coconut milk, coconut butter and coconut chips. It’s also used a lot in cosmetics.
