Chlorella

Chlorella is a single-celled, green freshwater algae and it’s one of the oldest known living foods on the planet. It’s available in capsule, tablet, powder and extract form. It helps to strengthen and protect the body against stress. In fact, Chlorella is a 100% vegan food and it’s extremely rich in vitamin B12 and zinc what are one of the most hard-to-get nutrients. These two vitamins are normally only found in high concentrations in meats and seafood. It has also more beneficial nutrients: protein, iron, fiber, vitamin C, antioxidants, omega-3s small amounts of magnesium, copper, potassium, calcium, folic acid and other B vitamins.

Health benefits

Studies have shown that chlorella has a protective effect against free radical and oxidative stress damage, which are known to cause aging. It also repairs and strengthens a DNA and has a protective effect on the immune system. Taking chlorella daily can lower high blood pressure and LDL cholesterol (“bad cholesterol”)

Chlorella has high chlorophyll content, which is one of nature’s most potent detoxifiers. It helps to detoxify harmful chemicals and other unwanted substances from the body. Some Chlorella powder taken during, before or even after meals can theoretically capture and detox any toxins, heavy metals or chemicals present before they have a chance to be absorbed by your body. Chlorella is rich in prebiotic fiber which allows it to act as food and fuel for the good probiotic bacteria in your gut.
