Porridge is one of the best breakfasts, that is extremely nutritious and contains many benefits for our body. Among other things, it is also easy and quick to prepare, which is especially suitable if there are many members in the family. However, there are many adults and children who do not want to eat porridge without additives. So how do you make porridge that the whole family can enjoy?
Useful to your body
Carbohydrates are needed for our body and mind to be active all day long. There are a lot of them in porridge and more importantly – they are not fast carbohydrates, so you get energy for a long time from eating porridge in the morning. It also contains many essential minerals and nutrients that are necessary for the normal functioning of the body. Cereal products contain fiber, plant protein and B vitamins, all of which promote our digestion.
Choose components which you prefer
Many people say that they don’t like porridge, yet they have only tried classic oatmeal – in fact the choice of porridge ingredients is very wide. In addition to oatmeal, you can try to do multi-grain, barley, rye or millet. For those who also like salty porridge in the morning, you could try groats, tongs or buckwheat – all of the above are very healthy choices.

Two good recipes for porridge
Our nutritionist Julia has put together two recipes that will make even biggest skeptic like porridge. One recipe is for making jam and the other one is for extra delicious chocolate porridge. They are especially suitable for children who love sweet taste.
Chocolate multigrain porridge with banana and sweet cherries
Ingredients:
- 250 ml of multigrains
- 500 ml of (non-dairy) milk or water
- 2 (ripped) bananas (save half for decoration)
- 1 tbsp of Be More raw cacao powder
- 1 tsp of cinnamon
- 2 tbsp of honey
- A little less than tbsp of Be More rice protein powder or flaxseeds powder
- Sweet cherries for decoration
Make porridge according to the information on package. Chop or smash 1,5 bananas. Add cinnamon, rice protein powder or flaxseeds powder to the porridge and stir. Then add mashed bananas and honey and stir once again. Serve your porridge nicely on a plate and decorate it with banana and sweet cherries. If you like, you could also decorate with some seeds of choice.
Chia-raspberry chutney
Ingredients:
- About 1 glass of raspberries
- 4-5 tbsp of maple syrup
- 4 tbsp Be More chia-seeds
