Summer is 100% ice cream season – refreshing snack, what we tend to eat more often than it’s okay with our body. With the temperature so high, we might not notice how many times we choose ice cream over a healthy snack. What if you can make some healthy ice cream at home?

Delicious but most definitely not healthy

Biggest trouble with ice cream is that they contain a lot of sugar and calories. What’s even more important – it might even be berry ice cream, but in reality all the good substances are vanished. However, you don’t always have to buy ice cream from the store, but it is possible to make it at home – this way you can choose exactly these products and quantities that suit you.

Possibility to cook with children

Making ice cream at home is an ideal option for families with children – they are craving sweets, but we don’t always want to give them candies full of sugar. Making healthy ice cream is an activity that you can do together and at the same time enjoy the end result without any guilt. Through it, the children can also get to know kitchen supplies and since the whole recipe is very simple, they can also practice cooking.

Homemade ice cream recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 bigger bananas
  • A handful of black currants
  • 4 tbsp (non-dairy) yoghurt
  • 4-5 dates
  • 1 tbsp Be More Be Active superfood powder
  • About 50 ml of water

Put all the ingredients in blender and make a puree. Pour your ice cream into the ice cream forms with special lids. Put them in the freezer for a couple of hours and enjoy homemade refreshing ice cream on a hot summer day.
